Performing safety surveys and preparing technical reports at the National Institutes of Health
Mechanical, Industrial, Safety Engineering Support Services
a) Directs and oversees all DOHS engineering activities.
b) Reviewed and approves all engineering reports.
c) Maintains and provides all CRC, Inc. test equipment necessary for laboratory validation.
d) Establishes engineering testing protocols for laboratory validation.
e) Develops and oversees engineering, operations and maintenance training programs to include conducting courses and their evaluations.
f) Oversees and conducts plan Reviewed related to identifying safety and health issues that may arise due to the construction and/or renovation of biomedical research laboratory facilities.
g) Provides oversight of commissioning efforts for validating engineering systems in newly constructed or renovated biomedical research facilities.
h) Provides support to DOHS and the ORF with building hardening and Biosurety initiatives.
i) Provides engineering support to conduct general and local exhaust ventilation studies, indoor air quality studies, and construction consultation.
j) Provides engineering support for the validation and certification process for BSL–3 and BSL–4 (High and Maximum Containment) Laboratories.
k) Provides engineering consultation and research support services for:
i) Designing and developing models to demonstrate worst-case scenarios for breaches in containment.
ii) Models for demonstrating facility’s ability to withstand an attack on the building’s containment systems (Biosurety).
iii) Engineering research support for national and international biomedical research laboratory facilities.
